About Him

An NRI trying to find peace with the idea of spending a good part of his life away from home, he calls himself Sam. Others who know him know him by his true name. Originally from Trivandrum, Kerala, he has spent a good part of his life in different parts of the country before moving out. He wants to share his joys and despair of living in an alien culture.

Came into being in 1979. He had a wonderful schooling. He was a gud student up until the he realised the joys of college life(read it as Kovalam life). Was wandering in life during his years in graduate college until he met some of the best friends in his life and they literally changed his life. Found himself perusing post graduation in a reputed university(thanks to his friends) where he had some of the best and bitter experiences up until then. Got excited in life after studies and decided to move out of the home state for a career, was fortunate to have worked in many places until he decided that he should be moving out of India to further his career only to realise later on that Kerala and trivandrum in particular is the best place for him to be in.

He was interested in football, cricket and travelling from his childhood days. Writing is his new passion. His literary skills are limited but he still enjoys it. He does quite a bit of reading but is generally allergic to novels. Current affairs and social issues interest him more.

Also worth mentioning is his appetite for different cuisines. He is someone who likes to try out different styles of cooking  as long as it is withing his acceptable range of acceptability. He is fortunate to be born into a family that treasures the joys of culinary excellence.

Has few but very good friends, friends who had taught him the delights of skipping class, the pleasures of swimming in the sea, who gave him the anxiety of his first film after bunking class, who were part of his amateur cricket team, who always remind him of the first ball duck in their very first match, who always remind him of the first speech that he gave(which was a disaster), friends who introduced him to Chandini Park and not to forget the one person who was fortunate enough to break his bones twice while riding the bike with him. Not to mention the hero escaped unhurt on both occasions.

A writer without a great deal of experience. An agnostic who is not willing to waste his time searching for the unsearchable. He writes because he feels to write. He writes on anything that interests him. Most of his pieces are inspired by something he reads or sees or experiences. Whatever he writes are his personal opinion and he will be delighted if is corrected on any mistakes that might have crept in.
